Replacing a car is something most of us have to think about every three years or so. We know the things to look for and ask about, and we know what we like. Replacing a furnace happens every twenty years or so for most of us. What should we look for? Adding or replacing central air conditioning causes the same concerns.

Larry Pittman (left)  and Denny Beland (right) J O Y (5155 bytes)are our replacement salesmen.denny.jpg (5655 bytes) They will be happy to come to your home to give you a free accurate assessment of your heating or cooling needs. Our replacement installation team is dedicated to scheduling these jobs in the timeliest manner possible.

We carry several styles of Bryant furnaces. The most efficient is the Plus 90I, model 355, which is a variable-speed condensing gas furnace. Hager Fox and Bryant offer the Plus 90I with 10-year parts and labor and limited lifetime heat exchanger warrantee. We also carry a standard 92% efficient furnace, the Plus 90, which carries a one-year parts and labor and lifetime heat exchanger warrantee. The venting for either of the 90 units is through PVC through the wall.

There are also two styles of 80% efficiency furnaces available, the standard Plus 80 model 310 and the two-speed model 312, which comes with two-stage burner and two-stage blower.. These furnaces are conventionally vented through a chimney.

Bryant air conditioners start with a 13 SEER unit and proceed to higher SEER's.   All available units increase one SEER when used in conjunction with plus 90I furnaces.

We also carry Bryant humidifiers and air cleaners, which will add to your indoor comfort.

Since 1996, we have offered whole house duct cleaning to our customers. This process takes about four hours and will help rid your ductwork of buildup that can reduce your heating systems efficiencies. It will also clean out pollen, fungi, and dust mites that can reside in your system, contributing to allergies, asthma and other respiratory problems.

Some frequently asked questions:

What is an AFUE? AFUE stands for Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency. It tells how efficiently a furnace utilizes the fuel used to run it. For example, for every dollar you spend on gas for an 80% AFUE, the furnace gives you 80 cents worth of heat. In a furnace with 92% AFUE, you would get 92 cents of heat.

What is a SEER? SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. This ratio compares the efficiencies of air conditioners. All new air conditioning units must be at least a 13 SEER. Hager Fox has available units of 13, 14, and 16 SEER.

Do you have any financing available? Bryant and G.E. Moneyback have developed a Comfort Credit program. This program provides a six month no payment no interest plan, after which time the charge becomes like a revolving charge.

Can you change furnaces in winter? We sure can. Our expert installers will get all the "pre" work done before they disconnect your furnace. They can then slide the new furnace in place and start making connections. You should be without heat for only two or three hours in most circumstances.
